Khairna Bridge – Found at a distance of 45 km, this comes when you travel to Nainital from Ranikhet. The place is very famous for fishing and hence is not isolated by the tourists.
Sitlakhet– You can reach here by traveling about 40 km from Ranikhet. This is situated between Almora and Ranikhet and is extremely beautiful. You get several close views of the Himalayas from here. You can also spot a few beautiful orchards in Sitlakhet. Also found is an ancient temple up above in the mountains.
Dronagiri– This is a drive of 85 km from Ranikhet. You can find the Dronagiri Temple here which is almost 1200 years old. As per folktale, in the Ram Rawan battle, in which Laxman was injured with the arrow, that eventually landed at this place.
Baijnath– This is 120 km drive from Ranikhet. It is situated at the banks of the River Gomti. There is a temple complex here, the main attraction of which is idol of Parvati made in black stone at the temple’s entrance. You are not allowed fishing here in the campus but tourists are allowed to feed the fishes. Also found here is a Kali Temple. Jageshwar– This is 100 km drive from Ranikhet and the place is all about temples. You will find a group of 132 temples here. All the temples are intricately built and a lot of tourists visit this place each year. There are also bus and car services from Ranikhet to this place.
Nainital–This is roughly a drive of 79 km from Ranikhet. And this town definitely needs no introduction. It is one of the most famous places in Uttarakhand. From the Naini Lake to the Naini Peak, from orchards to temples, there is a lot to see in Nainital. It is a very peaceful and beautiful place.
Almora– Almora is another popular tourist attraction in Uttarakhand and is located at a distance of 76 km from Ranikhet. The rich culture here, along with its beauty and views of the Himalayas, makes it a great tourist attraction. Nainital and Almora are very closely situated to one another.
Kausani– This is another popular place in the Kumaon Region of Uttarakhand. It is a hill resort in the middle of the snow capped Himalayas and makes for a very beautiful and memorable holiday. When Mahatma Gandhi visited this place, he was awestruck by its beauty and decided to spend a few months living there. You get very close views of the Himalayas here. In fact, it is almost like living in the Himalayas itself.
