Jermaine Lamar Cole is an artist, singer, songwriter, and recording producer. He also known as J Cole. Rapper was born in Germany on January 28, 1985, at the military base. He grew up at Fayetteville, North Carolina.
Early life
Cole’s father was an African-American veteran who had served in the US Army for many years. His mother’s name is Kay and he works at the United States Postal Service. Cole and his family were abandoned by his father when he was very young. Jermaine, his brother Zach and their mother lived together at Fayetteville, North Carolina. Both were raised in a multi-ethnic environment, which is why this famous artist feels like he can identify with both sides of his family. As a child, he liked a basketball and music, and he was even a first chair violin in Terry Sanford Orchestra.
When he was only 12 years old, he began to knock and convince it was the perfect career for him. He received ASR-X music Sambler as a gift from his mother at Christmas. Cole worked hard on his production skills and used the therapist as his pseudonym. After some time he began working with a local group called Bomb Sheltu. He knocked and produced music as part of the team.
After graduating from high school, he moved to New York City and went to St. John’s University. Career
Cole is very inspired by many well-known artists such as Canibus, Nas, Tupac, and Eminem. He worked on his improvement along with his cousin and practiced songwriter.
When he was only 14 years old, he had several notebooks filled with notes and song ideas. Cole did not have the opportunity to produce a knock, he only tasted sampling. His mother bought him a Roland TR-808 drum machine to help him understand production. He made various songs and posted it on several internet forums.
After several years, he began producing instrumental CDs. He went to Roc The Mic Studio and hoped for Collab with Jay Z, but he was dismissed.
He published his first mixtape in 2007. And called it appearing. This includes a knock from various artists such as Kanye West, a big professor, and just lit.
The second mixtape is warm-up (2009) and it includes the song “Lights please” who helped him note by Mark Pitts, a music producer. He signed a contract with Roc Nation and began working with many famous Rapper, Wale, Jay Z, and Talib Kweli.
J Cole appeared on Jay-Z album named The Blueprint 3 (2009), on the song “A Birth Star.” He was also part of the first album Wale, Attention Deficit (2009) and Mixtape named back to features (2009). He worked on Single Talib Kweli and Hi-Tech, “he just started”. Cole also appeared on the Eternal Reflection album entitled Revolusi per minute (2010), in Mixtape B.O.B which was called May 25 (2010), on the famous “Gladiator” song. His name is in the list of “50 major breakthrough artists,” and ten new students by XXL 2010 magazine.
The third mixtape came out in 2010. With the lamp name Friday night. He also joined Drake at Dreams Light and Nightmares UK Tour. Cole published his debut album Cole World: The Sideline Story in 2011. And it became a certified platinum. Jay-Z is shown on his debut album. After a few months, he published a heating mixtape.
“Every Sunday until the drops album I will return with something. Maybe only 1 song, maybe a video, depending on how I feel,” J Cole wrote on his Twitter and announced a certain Sunday. He appeared in Barbados on a rihanna hard tour.
Cole World: The Sideline Story was published on September 27, 2011. This crashed into the US Billboard 200 graph and was a gold certified by the American Recording Industry Association (RIAA).
He collaborated with Rapper Missy Elliott in his trace titled “Nothing Perfect”. He supports Tinie Tempah and appears at the Bournemouth International Center; Liverpool Echo Arena, Cardiff’s Point Motorcycle Arena, Cardiff, Wales; LG Arena, Birmingham, England; SECC Arena, Glasgow, Scotland; and Men Arena, Manchester.
Road to homecoming documentary was published in 2016. And featuring Kendrick Lamar, Wale, Rihanna, Pusha T, Big Sean, Jay Z, and Drake. The next album is called 4 of your Eyez and it presses number one in the Billboard list 200. The song “Deja Vu” is very successful and appears on the US 100 Bill Bill list. This album is also a certified platinum by the American Recording Industry Association (RIAA).
The next album was named KOD named for children in drugs, king overdose, or killing our devil. It was also displayed on the Billboard 200 US list and Billboard Hot 100. The KOD TOUR features many famous names such as Thug Young, Jaden Smith, Edward and Kill Edward.
Personal life
He is married to Melissa Holt and together they have a son. Melissa also attended St. John’s University. She works as the Executive Director of the Dreamville Foundation.
